BRENDAN GAESSER PhD

Welcome to the personal website of Brendan Gaesser. Brendan studies the social functions of imagination and memory. He uses a variety of methods available to psychology to uncover their shared cognitive basis, and how these abilities change in aging. Recently, he has begun exploring the role of imagining the future and remembering the past in fostering prosocial decision-making and applying these findings to facilitate actual behavior. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Boston College in the Morality Lab and affiliated with the Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Lab. Starting fall 2016 he will be an assistant professor at SUNY Albany.
